The community of East Ascot in Greater Portmore was built with two parks and over 800 houses. The parks were simply unimproved open areas with a few trees. Over the years, residents have used these open areas for community meetings, informal football games, dump areas, and car parks. The East Ascot citizens have been discussing plans for more formal use of the parks for many years. After some discussion, in 2007 a rough drawing was circulated through the community that showed all the plans for the smaller of the two parks. The plans included a section for play areas, football field, etc. All major interest groups in the community were covered. ![]()
