Important Dates to keep in mind! ############################################################ +++++++++++++++++++++++ HIGHWAY2000 Meeting +++++++++++++++++++++++ The Portmore Citizens Advisory Council (PCAC) will be holding a Highway2000 update meeting Thursday 25, November 2004 starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Lion’s Centre in Edge Water. All citizens are invited to hear the latest on the Highway2000 toll issue. +++++++++++++++++++++++ OPEN DAY +++++++++++++++++++++++ As part of 'Community Month' the Portmore Municipal Council will be holding an "Open Day" at the Council offices in the Portmore Pines Plaza. The date is Thursday November 25, 2004 from 10 am - 5 pm. On this day, the Municipal conference Room will be open for the public to view the work of the Council. Mayor Lee and the Staff will be there to answer questions. In addition, the work of other service agencies will be featured... Solid waste Agency, NEPA, UDC, etc. All are invited! particularly Portmore Schools! Refreshment will be provided for all who come in. Come and learn more about services and activities of the Portmore Municipality. +++++++++++++++++++++++ CHRISTMAS TREAT +++++++++++++++++++++++ The Mayor's Christmas Kids Treat will be held on Dec 18 between 2 pm - 6 pm at two locations: Greater Portmore Sports Complex and Gregory Park School. All Portmore children are invited (500+) Everything will be free...Rides, food, clowns, bounce about, hot dogs , cotton candy , magicians, snow cone.... and more. +++++++++++++++++++++++ CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING +++++++++++++++++++++++ The Municipal Tree Lighting Ceremony will be on Dec 5, 2004 starting at 5:30 pm. The tree will be at the Edgewater round about. All are invited. +++++++++++++++++++++++ TELETHON +++++++++++++++++++++++ The Mayor's support committee will be holding a Telethon on 12 Dec. 2004 at the Lions Club. Proceeds will go towards building a Senior Citizens Center in Portmore. Donations will be solicited from the public at, the event which will run from 12 pm to 12 midnight. However, donations can be make before and even after the event! It will be carried live on local cable TV. Other national media will be there periodically. Your pledges for this worthy cause will be gratefully received! Pledge cards are already being distributed. +++++++++++++++++++++++ CHRISTMAS CONCERT +++++++++++++++++++++++ On Dec 19 there will be "Christmas in the Park" concert the at Edgewater Roundabout.
