Casablanca 2. Jewell's International Resort 3. Sea Horse Rider Inn. I have stayed at Jewell's and Sea Horse. Jewell's is a nice place, but the lack of dead bolt locks on the doors, room safe, or even a hotel safe was cause for concern. Jewell's has a pool. I stayed at Sea Horse Rider Inn about a month ago. Again, it was a nice place, and it had room safes, but no pool. The third place was Casablanca. It looks like a nice place, but I haven't stayed there. I did go to the pub for a drink. The pub is a nice place. All three are located on Port Henderson Road. Casablanca is farthest north, toward the entrance of Portmore Causeway. Jewell's is farthest south, with Port Henderson Mall just down the road. Room rates for Jewell's and Sea Horse start at about J$2800 (about USD $45 per night) The rooms are clean, no frills, tiled floors, with A/C, a shower, and TV. If you go to Sea Horse, spend a few dollars more and get an upstairs room with a view of the sea. I had a great time. The hotel had cable TV, with one channel having hard-core "f*** and s***" (pardon my brutal language) adult pornography. I have no problem with adult pornography, except that at the hotel, that channel was next to children's cartoon channels. (It could have been from sattelite.) I don't know how the channels are arranged on Portmore cable TV in homes. Pornography should be grouped with other adult channels, not located next to children's channels. The sound from the children's cartoon channel bled over into the adult channel, sometimes with hilarious results. You couldn't write the material any funnier. (Details upon request.) I further think that the channel should be available only on request. I don't suppose there are many guests with children, but we never know!
