I am having a serious problem with the JUTC buses especially the # 12 route. In the morning we cannot get any bus to come to town, I sometimes stand at the bus stop for an hour before and #12 will arrive, within the hour at least three or four #12A will pass. I personally call the dispatcher at the Portmore depot one morning while waiting for an hour and all he could say to me is that they were having bus problem and he was sorry about the situation, but the situation has gotten worse since the start of the year. What I have to do in the mornings is the walk to the gas station at Independence City to wait for a # 3 bus, and that should not be, because a bus runs in the scheme of Cumberland. Because of the lack of buses and to a more extent the traffic on the toll road I have to leave my home very early in the morning just to reach the gas station before 7 a.m so i can reach work early. I dont know who else to talk to about this, because it seems going to the source did not help the situation it just gotten worse. I would appreciate it if you would shed some light on this situation for me. Thanks for giving an opportunity to express myself, because i think i am at my wits end and the year has just started. Fagon's piece about the Port Henderson " Back Road." Clearly Mr. Fagon is a little to young to remember when the back road was really a quality vacation strip. I whole heartedly agree that improving the road was an excellent thing to do, but what has happened is that we can now quickly see the squalor which overtaken this wonderful piece of real estate. Until the council takes some really tough far reaching decisions about the housing situation and the illegal activities occurring in that area it will continue to be an "outer city" ghetto that will contribute little to our sunshine city. I am sure you know some of them already, but there are others I have only found out about very recently. I hope that either way you will find them interesting. As always I welcome your comments, corrections and criticisms. In fact I need some input from those better informed than I am - and I shall add to the list of questions as the month goes on: 1. Who was William Davidson's father actually, and what happened to his sons? 2. Where was Alan Goffe born? (That must be able to be found out from BMD records in the UK) 3. Why wouldn't the Jamaican government give Robert Robinson a Jamaican passport in the mid-1970s? I hope the mechanics of the site work OK; please let me know of any glitches. I hope you find the site enjoyable and interesting. All best wishes Joy PS If you would like me to take you off my list an email saying 'NO MORE' should do it! -- . . . always something new to find out! http://joyousjam.googlepages.com/allmypages No matter what road I travel, I'm going home.
